8 New Buses to Strengthen the Services of Autobusbedrijf Curaçao

Willemstad, December 9 – Autobusbedrijf Curaçao (ABC) has added eight (8) new buses as part of the ongoing process to renew its fleet.

During the official handover of the buses, Minister Shalton Hato, acting on behalf of Public Transport Minister Charles Cooper, stated that Minister Cooper is pleased that the buses are now available. Minister Hato further emphasized that the procurement of these buses is not merely an investment in vehicles.

“This is an investment in the quality of life of our people. Each bus represents greater comfort for our passengers, more efficient operations, and above all, a service that inspires confidence in ABC. It also provides ABC with more flexibility for optimal fleet maintenance, contributing to a more reliable and sustainable service,” Minister Hato said.

ABC thanks the Ministry of VVRP for financing the purchase of the vehicles. With the arrival of these eight buses, ABC is taking the first step in the process of optimizing its services. In 2026, ABC will continue to focus on passenger comfort and experience through the introduction of Wi-Fi on buses, improvements to bus stops with enhanced information, and the modernization of the payment system to make travel easier and more secure for customers.

Autobusbedrijf Curaçao remains committed to developing a public transportation system that evolves with the needs of the community, strengthens passenger confidence, and contributes to a more sustainable mobility future for the island.

ABC is proud of the arrival of the eight new buses, as they reflect the positive progress being made to strengthen public transportation in Curaçao.
