The challenge
ABC and UOOW are looking for a design for quieter bus stops serving fewer than 500 passengers per week (Class II). Combine creativity and originality with accessibility and sustainability.
Design a safe, recognizable and affordable bus shelter suited to our climate, with shade, protection from rain, seating and clear travel information. Consider storm resistance and a service life of at least 15 years.
The winner will work with the appointed architect on the technical development of the design.
How will your design be assessed?
After checking the entry conditions and mandatory requirements, the jury will assess eligible designs anonymously and select up to ten finalists. The public will also vote: the public vote counts for 20% of the final score. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony.

What can you win?
1st prize: XCG 3,500
2nd prize: XCG 1,000

The remaining finalists will receive a finalist prize.
Who can enter?
- Anyone living in Curaçao with a valid sedula identity card.
- You may enter individually or as a team.
- No diploma or design experience is required.
- Under 18? Written permission and a copy of your parent’s or legal guardian’s sedula are required.
What do you submit?
- An explanation of no more than one A4 page.
- At least three sketches: front view, side view and perspective.
- No more than two A3 presentation sheets, preferably including a floor plan with dimensions.
- Completed forms A and B and a copy of a valid sedula for each participant.
Hand-drawn or digital: both are welcome! Technical construction drawings are not required. You may submit your entry in Papiamentu, Dutch, English or Spanish.

You submit your design later, no later than 30 November 2026, by email to marketing@autobusbedrijf.com or in person at our head office at Industrieterrein Buena Vista z/n.
After registering, you will receive a participant number, the full competition rules, requirements and forms by email.
